Hello Dear Reader,
The ironies abound this week in Maseru, Lesotho.
Isn't it ironic that, since November, it has rained in Lesotho nearly every.single.day. yet for the past week, the entire city has been without water? Wait...wait...it gets better. The week that the entire city has been without water...there has been very little rain (usually only in the evening hours)!
I did my part and prepared in advance (because the city has run out of water before for several days at time) by stocking water in my recycled bottled water containers (I have many of them, you see!). Today, the day that the water was scheduled to return, I ran out of bottled water...and the water is still out!
Just had to let you know...even though this has absolutely nothing to do with running...which I've managed to do very little of because of commitments at work. This, however, will not stop me from competing in and completing the Ottosdal Night 1/2 Marathon this Saturday. I'm soooo freaking excited about this one!
After work today and tomorrow morning, I plan to run about 10km. Saturday morning, I'll wake up in the morning to make the 4 to 5 hour drive to Ottosdal, register for the race, walk around to see what this little town has to offer, and at 6:30 pm....let the race begin!
Well, that's all I have for now. I'll keep you posted on tomorrow's run and that will be the last you'll hear from me until I return home on Sunday! Wish me luck in advance on the race...and that the water is back on by the time I complete my run this afternoon!
Until next time...one foot in front of the other...keep it movin'!
Yours in training,
Dani
