While I'm waiting for the Rapture, I'll go ahead and run

Hello Dear Reader,

Ok, so maybe the prediction about Christ's second coming is off by a day or two. This morning, I was expecting to wake up to earthquakes, raging waters, and hell fires. Opening my bedroom curtains, however, I saw life going on as usual, so I took the opportunity to get one more run in...just in case dooms day really is tomorrow. I got up, slipped the same running clothes I had on yesterday (TMI?), and hit the road, but this time my Garmin was charged and ready to go!

Running down parliament hill, down past the mall, and up the hill towards Maseru Club...my shins were on FIRE and I was a little short of breath. Is this any taste of what I should expect on judgement day? Up past the US embassy, circling along Moshoeshoe Road towards the industrial area...a nice pace was forming along with the various songs on my pavement pounding playlist. Body parts were jiggling that I don't remember jiggling when I was serious about my training. Alas! Down the hill towards TEBA, past all of the church goers, up the hill and around the corner towards the ministry of health...a quick look at my Garmin told me I'd run just under four miles...feeling awesome! Running through town, past onlookers, fighting all of the congestion as cars and taxis dropped off or collected patients from the national referral hospital...almost done Dani, keep it movin'! Up the small hill leading to the Maseru Bridge bypass road, across the street, and back up parliament hill...home with 5.1 miles under my belt in 51 minutes!

Shame on me for taking such a long break from something that makes me feel soooo good! But you know what, this is a learning lesson for both me and you, Dear Reader. Everything worth having takes work...and just because you lose sight of your goals, doesn't mean they are forever lost. Pick back up where you left off, put one foot in front of the other...and keep it movin'!

Yours in (still getting my mojo back) training,

Dani
