Thanks to my friends and family who, after reading yesterday's post, gave me a collective pep talk. I feel much better...thanks again!
I woke up this morning with a renewed sense of determination to get back into running full force. Initially, I spoke of training for the Vic Falls Marathon in August, but I'm definitely not in shape for that. Instead, I've decided to aim for an October marathon, and will use from now until then to prepare my mind and body with several half marathons. I'm not sure which ones I'll do yet, but am committed to running the Jumbo Jolly Half on July 30th. Thus far, I've come up with this list of races to chose from:
- Jumbo Jolly 1/2- July 30th
- Ocean Basket (not sure of the distance)- August 13th
- Welkom Medi-Clinic Nite 10km- August 19th
- Wilge Spring 1/2- August 27th
- Vic Teheron's and Webber (not sure of the distance)- September 3rd
- Bloempark Sweat & Eat 10km- September 10th
- Coca Cola Round Naval Hill 1/2- September 17th
- Lite2Nite 12 Hour Circuit (not sure what this is, but curious)- Sept 17th
On another note, last night after my run, I headed over to the hotel next door to check out their gym facilities. Although they only have 3 treadmills, the facility is a lot less crowded than the big gym and there are not as many distractions. I'm going to work out after I knock off...and boy, I can't wait!!!
