Two birds with one stone

Hello Dear Reader,

Over the past couple of weeks, my beloved Mac has been giving me much attitude. First, it started with having to jiggle the power cord to charge. Now, two weeks later, it's just not charging at all. I'm crying a little on the inside right now! I started to slowly die on the inside when I realized that the closest Apple repair store is in Johannesburg- a 5 + hour drive away. Now I could save one trip and just wait until I go up there next weekend for the Jolly Jumbo 1/2, but I love and need my Mac somethin' powerful!

Tonight, after my hour-long run on the rat wheel at the hotel gym next door, I'll be taking my sickling over to my fellow Mac user's house to do the initial diagnostic check: is it the power cord (***please Apple Gods, let this be it!!!) or my beloved Mac (***please God, NO!!!***).

Being the uber impatient gal that I am, my first instinct is to drive up there this weekend...and drive up there again for the Jolly Jumbo. And if I end up driving to Jozi this weekend, might as well get a race in- The Discovery/702 Walk the Talk 15 km (~ 9 miles). There's also a 30 km, but we both know I'm not in shape for that just yet...but soon, Dear Reader, soon! So, as a back-up plan, I'm prepared to turn a lemon trip into lemonade with a lemon slice! Plus, I'm on the verge of convincing Doc to go up there with me for the weekend...told him I'll make it rain (in Rands) on him! We'll see! I'll keep you posted!

On another note, last night, I did a test run (no pun intended) at the hotel gym. The cost of membership is similar to the big gym, but there are significantly fewer people and distractions...plus, I can just walk over there at any time because there are security guards along the way! Although a treadmill is a rat wheel is a treadmill, I still managed to get in a 40 minute run plus a bit of strength training. Boy, it felt good and my ever-growing pavement pounding playlist kept me moving! Tonight, I'm aiming for an hour-long run!

So until next time...send some positive Mac vibes out to the universe with me...and put one foot in front of the other...and...keep it movin'!!!!!

Yours in (mama nooo...don't take my Mac away from me) training,

Dani
